F.A.Q. – Frequently Asked Questions

At Heather’s Therapeutic Massage in North Little Rock, my goal is for you to feel comfortable, cared for, and fully informed. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about my massage services, pricing, scheduling, and policies.

1. What are Modalities?

Modalities are like the tools in a massage therapist’s toolkit. They are specific techniques or approaches that I have studied in depth and, in many cases, earned certifications in. Each modality allows me to better tailor your session to your individual needs.

2. What types of massage do you offer?

I specialize in therapeutic massage, Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and reflexology. Together, we can determine which approach (or combination) best supports your goals—whether relaxation, pain relief, or injury recovery.

3. Do you accept walk-ins, or is it appointment only?

To ensure every client receives the attention they deserve, I work by appointment only. You can easily book online or by call/text. Same-day appointments may be available if there’s an opening.

4. How early should I arrive for my appointment?

  • First visit: Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete paperwork and talk through your goals.
  • Returning clients: Arriving about 5 minutes early is usually plenty of time to settle in and begin promptly.

5. What should I wear to my massage?

Wear something comfortable. During your session, you’ll always be properly draped for privacy, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

6. How do I pay for my session?

I accept cash, check, and debit/credit cards. Payment is due at the time of service. First-time clients are asked to keep a card on file.

7. What’s your cancellation policy?

Life happens—I just ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations, rescheduling, or shortening your session. Late cancellations, no-shows, or last-minute changes may be charged a 50–100% fee of the session rate.

8. How often should I get a massage?

That depends on your goals:

  • Chronic pain or injury recovery: Weekly or bi-weekly is often recommended.
  • General wellness and stress relief: Monthly sessions are a great way to maintain balance.

9. What is Cupping?

Cupping is a therapeutic technique that uses specially designed cups placed on the skin to create gentle suction. This suction helps increase circulation, release muscle tension, and promote healing. Many clients find cupping especially helpful for back pain, stiffness, or areas that feel “stuck.”
The circular marks sometimes left behind are not bruises—they’re a normal part of the process and usually fade within a few days. Cupping can be used as a stand-alone technique or combined with massage to deepen the benefits.

10. Do you offer CBD oil in massage?

I offer the option to enhance sessions with CBD massage oil when appropriate. CBD (cannabidiol) is a natural, non-psychoactive compound from hemp that may support pain relief, reduced inflammation, and deeper relaxation.
CBD oil does not produce any kind of “high”; it works with your body to support comfort and stress relief.

11. Do you work with people who have medical conditions or chronic pain?

Absolutely. I frequently work with clients managing fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraines, diabetes, post-surgical recovery, and more. Please share your medical history during intake so I can adapt techniques and ensure your comfort and safety.

12. Is tipping expected?

Tipping is never required—your presence is more important than gratuity. Tips are always appreciated, but I’d much rather you feel comfortable coming regularly for the health benefits.

13. What happens during inclement weather?

If North Little Rock or PCSSD schools close due to bad weather, my office will also close. You can always call or text me at 501-412-6412 with questions. Safety comes first—I leave the roads to first responders when conditions are dangerous.

14. Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates make wonderful gifts. Please treat them like cash, as they cannot be reissued. They can be transferred to another person but are non-refundable. Any promotional value expires 6 months from the purchase date. After expiration, you may still redeem the certificate by paying any difference in pricing.

15. What is your client conduct policy?

I maintain a professional, safe environment. Any inappropriate behavior, comments, or requests will result in immediate termination of the session, with full payment required.

16. What if I arrive late?

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened so I can stay on schedule for the next client. The full session fee will still apply.
